3-5-11 - Iron Chef Night

Hey Guys,

This Tuesday we will be have our iron chef night, a chance to brush up on the cooking skills and participate in our massive fight-to-the-death cooking competition, where teams will compete to cook the best meal using the ingredients they buy and one super secret item. (which will be revealed to you on the night.)

We will be meeting normal time (7.30pm) at Ritchie's (IGA) in East Bentleigh.SO DO NOT GO TO THE HALL! We will be making our way back to hall after we have bought everything we need.

Cost is $5 per person, so we can buy ingredients.

Please bring uniform for parade and we will be finishing as usual at 9.30pm in the hall.

22-3-11 - Photo Scavenger Hunt with Bentleigh Ranger Guides

This week, we are having a joint meeting with Bentleigh Ranger Guides, and running a Photo Scavenger Hunt.
Here are the details:

Where: Our Hall
When 7:15 - 9:30pm (note the earlier start time!!)
Cost: nothing
What to bring: Uniform, a digital camera (if you have one), a rain jacket (if the weather looks dodgy)

1/3/11 - Cyber Safety night

This Tuesday is a Cyber Safety Night being organised by 28th Glen Eira.

Lisa Prince, who is the Glen Eira Youth Resource Officer with Victoria Police will be coming to present to us.

All Venturers are welcome.

The meeting is from 7.30-9.30, at 28th's hall, and it is well worthwhile for all kids of Venturer age to hear what Lisa has to say.

Please wear full uniform.

GES Venturer Forum - 15/2/11

This week is our district Venturer Forum.
It's being held at our hall, starting at 7:30 and finishing at 9:30.
Please wear full uniform.

8-2-11 - Wrap N Go & Cold Rock

This week we will be: going to Wrap N Go, then to Cold Rock Ice Cream for Grace's birthday.

Meet at: Mirage Hall at 7:30pm
Finish at: Mirage Hall at 9:30pm
Cost: Ice cream will cost you around $8, not sure on exact costs at Wrap N Go, but if you bring $20 with you it should be more than enough
Uniform required: No

Other stuff you need to know:
Ice cream will be done as a "lucky dip", where you choose two flavours and two mix-ins out of a hat, and that's your ice cream concoction.
Please let me know if you're coming so I can make appropriate transport arrangements.
Toad and I, plus one of the Rovers if required, will be providing transport.

First Night back for Venturers - 1/2/11

Hi all,

This Tuesday, 1/2/11 is our first night back from Venturers.

Because only 2 Venturers turned up to our programming meeting this afternoon, Tuesday night will be dedicated to putting our program together for the year, as well as a couple of games. If you want to have your input into the Unit program, make sure you bring along your ideas!

Also, any of you who have done any work on your Queen's Scout badgework, please bring all your current paperwork (passport, proposal forms, certificates, etc.) so I can check over them and help you plan out more badgework for this year.

Meeting will be normal time, 7:30 - 9:30 at the Mirage Hall. Please bring your uniform for parade.

Welcome to 2011!

Welcome back everyone!

To kick off the year, we'll be having a planning afternoon to set our program for the year on Sunday January 30th at 2pm, at the Mirage Hall.
All unit members are welcome and encouraged to come along and have their input into what we do for the year. Remember, decisions are made by those who turn up!

Our first Tuesday night back for the year will be on February 1st, at the hall. More details to follow based on what comes out of the planning afternoon.
